We will be staying in Kafue and Lower Zambezi during this trip.
Busanga Plains in Kafue National Park is one of the most spectacular and remote safari destinations in Zambia. This vast wetland area, which is underwater during the rainy season and dries out in the drier months, provides a unique habitat for a wide variety of wildlife. The open grasslands attract impressive herds of buffalo, puku, lechwe, and zebra, which in turn draw in predators like lions. You can also find herds of Roan and Sable antelopes. The plains are a paradise for birdwatchers, featuring numerous bird species. The sunsets over the Busanga Plains are enchanting, casting a golden glow over the landscape and creating a breathtaking backdrop for every safari experience. The remote character of the area also ensures an authentic and exclusive wilderness experience.
Lower Zambezi is a stunning wildlife reserve located along the banks of the iconic Zambezi River. This area offers a unique safari experience due to its combination of lush riverine landscapes and dense forests. During safari excursions, you can spot numerous animals, such as elephants often seen wandering along the river, as well as hippos and crocodiles in the water. Lower Zambezi is also a haven for predators like lions, leopards, and wild dogs. The abundance of bird species and the picturesque scenery make it an excellent destination for nature lovers and photographers.
We begin our journey in Lusaka, Zambia. From there, we will fly to Lower Zambezi National Park. For five nights, we will stay in an intimate tented camp featuring five tents, each equipped with a shower and toilet. After our time in Lower Zambezi, we will fly to Busanga Plains in Kafue National Park. Here, we will first spend five nights in Busanga, followed by five nights in a private concession in Kafue National Park. Finally, we will fly back to the capital, Lusaka.
During our stay, we have the luxury of two open Land Rovers/Land Cruisers, accommodating a maximum of four guests per vehicle, each guided by a local expert and a professional photographer.
Every day is filled with adventure, featuring two game drives: one in the morning and one in the afternoon/evening. Both Kafue and Lower Zambezi also offer boating options. This Africa safari photography trip presents unique opportunities for photographers, while also being well-suited for non-photographing partners.
